Of course, it's not as if the candidates haven't had a chance to talk to each other about the issues throughout the campaign. Romney's statement on Thursday pointedly said that he had "participated in 20 debates, including 8 on CNN. "

The staggering number of debates, and the influence they've had on the GOP contest, has become a key part of the 2012 campaign. Some, such as GOP strategist Karl Rove and Sen. The 42-33 vote sends the bill to Christie, who won't take immediate action. The affirmative vote in the Assembly after more than two hours of debate ended weeks of speculation over whether Democrats who control the chamber would muster the 41 votes needed for the measure to pass. Four of the Assembly's 47 Democrats voted no, and a fifth was out of town and didn't vote. No Republicans voted in favor of the bill.

The Senate passed the bill 24-16. In that chamber, two Republicans voted for the bill and two Democrats voted against it in what was otherwise a party-line vote.

The bill would need several Republican votes in each house to override the governor; Christie himself essentially guaranteed that that won't happen.

With that in mind, Democrats who identified same-sex marriage as their No. 1 priority for the two-year legislative session that began in January have adopted a longer view. They say there's no rush for an override vote, especially because the Legislature has been unsuccessful in every prior attempt to override Christie, most notably to reinstate Monster Beats Michael Jackson a surcharge on millionaires.

Instead, they plan to bide their time in hopes that support for gay marriage �C currently 52-42 percent in New Jersey, according to one recent voter poll �C will continue to grow.

In case same-sex couples can't win gay marriage through legislation, they have engaged in a parallel fight in the courts. Seven gay couples and several of their children have sued, claiming that the state's civil union law doesn't work as intended.

Civil unions were designed to provide the benefits of marriage to gay couples without the title. They were adopted after the Supreme Court instructed the Legislature to provide marriage equality to same-sex couples.

Chesterfield police Chief Kyle Wilson said the bus had a stop sign while the dump truck had a flashing yellow light. He said it was unclear whether the bus was attempting to cross the intersection or turn when the collision happened. The dump truck ran off the road into a grassy area.

No charges were filed. Police said the investigation was incomplete.

The town of about 8, 000 residents has thousands of acres of preserved farmland, but there is also a lot of new home construction near the school, which serves nearly 600 students in kindergarten through sixth grade.

Gov. Chris Christie called the crash "a terrible tragedy. "

"The family's grief must be enormous, " Christie said in a statement. "We can only imagine their pain and lend our support and prayers in this most difficult of times. The young exchange student whose conviction in Italy and eventual acquittal on murder charges made headlines worldwide has an agreement with HarperCollins to tell her story. The 24-year-old Seattle resident, imprisoned for four years in Perugia, Italy, has not publicly discussed her ordeal beyond a brief expression of gratitude upon her release last October.

"Knox will give a full and unflinching account of the events that led to her arrest in Perugia and her struggles with the complexities of the Italian judicial system, " HarperCollins said in a statement Thursday.

"Aided by journals Monster Miles Davis Tribute she kept during her imprisonment, Knox will talk about her harrowing experience at the hands of the Italian police and later prison guards and inmates. She will reveal never before-told details surrounding her case, and describe how she used her inner strength and strong family ties to cope with the most challenging time of her young life. "

The book, currently untitled, is tentatively scheduled for early 2013.

"Many accounts have been written of the Amanda Knox case, and countless writers and reporters have speculated on what role, if any, was played by Knox in that tragic and terrifying sequence of events, " HarperCollins publisher Jonathan Burnham said in a statement.

"No one has yet heard Amanda Knox's own account of what happened, and this book will give Knox an opportunity to tell the story in full detail, for the first time. It will be the story of a crime and a trial, but also a moving account of a young woman's struggle to cope with a nightmarish ordeal that placed her at the center of a media storm, and led to her imprisonment. "

Financial terms were not disclosed, but an official with knowledge of the negotiations said the deal was worth $4 million for world rights. The official was not authorized to discuss the negotiations and spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity.

Knox was represented by Washington attorney Robert Barnett, whose other clients include President Barack Obama and former President George W. Bush. Some 20 publishers were interested and Knox met with seven, all of whom submitted bids during a recent auction.

Burnham said that Knox, who studied creative writing, would work with a collaborator and that her book will cover her life in Perugia leading up to the murder of 21-year-old British student Meredith Kercher, along with an account of the events surrounding the murder. Knox's editor will be Claire Wachtel, whose other authors have included crime novelist Dennis Lehane, journalist Cokie Roberts and U. S. Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison of Texas.

"Claire has a great track record of working with high-profile figures, " Burnham said. "She's a very sensitive, responsive editor who I think can work with someone like Amanda, who's new to the experience. "

Publishers in recent years have shied from controversial defendants, but Burnham said he was deeply impressed by Knox when he met with her.

Awlaki was killed in a drone attack in Yemen last September. In court papers, the FBI identified Awlaki as "chief of external operations" for al Qaeda's Yemen branch as well as an Internet-savvy propagandist and recruiter.

RALEIGH, N. C. �� Lawyers for John Edwards have asked a judge to limit the testimony of longtime aide Andrew Young at the former presidential candidate's upcoming campaign finance trial.

Edwards' lawyers and prosecutors submitted court filings Wednesday over expected testimony from Young about conversations he had with heiress Rachel "Bunny" Mellon and campaign finance chairman Fred Baron. Defense lawyers said Young's testimony would amount to hearsay, or out-of-court statements that can't be verified, since Baron is dead and the 101-year-old Mellon is too frail to testify at trial.

Edwards' lawyers argue that no such conspiracy existed.

"There also is no question that Mr. Edwards and Young agreed to hide the truth about Ms. Hunter's baby, and that Mr. Edwards knew and agreed that Young should claim that he (and not Mr. Edwards) was the father, " Edwards' lawyers wrote. "There is no evidence, however, that Young believed that he had an agreement with Mr. Edwards to commit a crime. "

A gay marriage bill was defeated in the Senate two years ago, just before Gov. Jon Corzine, a Democrat who supported the measure, left office. Advocates' hopes dimmed with the arrival of Christie, a Republican who spoke against gay marriage when asked about it during his campaign.

This time around, advocates have presented gay marriage as a civil rights issue. The bill includes an exemption for religious leaders, institutions and facilities, meaning no one would be required to perform, host or lease space for a gay marriage.

Republican Sen. Kip Bateman of Somerset has taken a different approach. He recently drafted a resolution asking voters to approve gay marriage at the ballot. The resolution must be approved by the Legislature to be placed on the ballot in November, which Senate President Steve Sweeney has already said he won't allow.

STAMFORD, Conn. -- Behind a backstage door, Maury Povich leafs through papers and listens to his producers brief him on that day's paternity mysteries. He checks the pronunciation of a name or two, tries to get straight which man is claiming a childhood testicular injury. Then he's ready.

"Let's play the game, " the veteran TV personality NHL Jerseys says as he rises and heads toward the door.

A couple of turns down a hallway later, he steps onto a stage filled with women dancing to "Sexy and I Know It" over the loudspeaker. A roar of recognition greets him. Maury's people.

In the post-Oprah Winfrey daytime world, these are good days to be Maury Povich, who shares with Jerry Springer and Steve Wilkos a studio converted from a theater 45 miles northeast of New York. His show has its best ratings in five years. "Maury" is the top talk show among young viewers.

"Maury" is a milder version of what Springer does �C no flashing or free-for-alls �C but is no different from the type of program that 15 years ago drew end-of-civilization media attention.

Now they essentially exist in a vacuum. Nobody notices except regular fans.

"I haven't heard from (corporate bosses) NBC in a long time about the content on my show, " Povich said. The show makes money, and there's a more liberal view of what is acceptable on television today. "In terms of what's on cable, we're kind of tame, " he said.

After the producers of Rihanna's "Birthday Cake" remix promised a "shocking" addition to the track, and Miss Info is now reporting that the controversial addition is... Chris Brown.

While the news will come as good news to "Team Breezy" fans (Brown has nearly eight million followers on Twitter), many will be shocked to hear that the 24-year-old Barbadian singer would so publicly welcome Brown back into her life and career. Many critics bristled at what appeared to be an extreme effort on the part of the producers to highlight Brown and his music. The New Yorker's Sasha Frere-Jones said his win was "one of the Grammys' weirdest choices ever, " given that more standout artists like Drake were largely ignored. Keyota Cole has been battling congenital heart disease since she was born. But when the 33-year-old California woman learned she was pregnant with her second biological child, doctors suggested she terminate the pregnancy because her heart couldn't handle it.

But Cole decided to keep the baby anyway.

During a fetal echocardiogram, Cole learned the baby's heart only had one pumping chamber and that it would need open-heart surgery shortly after birth.

Cole moved forward with the pregnancy Monster Beats Lebron James and gave birth on Dec. 13, 2011. She named her daughter Faith.

The mother's heart condition could have been fatal for mother and child, KGET 17 News reports.

But when the baby was taken into surgery five days later, Cole and fiance Brian Zachary waited for her safe return.

Symptoms of a pulmonary embolism include being short of breath, having trouble breathing, coughing (or coughing up blood), chest pain and even irregular heartbeat, according to the National Heart Lung and Blood Institute. Recently, guidelines released from the doctor group American College of Chest Physicians shows that blood clots from traveling -- coined "economy class syndrome" -- are actually not more common when you fly economy class. The real risk is run when people don't get up and move around on a long flight, particularly those lasting more than five to eight hours, the Associated Press reported.

As weird as it may sound, this is certainly not the first toothbrush recall. In 2010, the FDA put out a notice warning users of the Oral-B CrossAction Power and PowerMAX toothbrushes to be careful because the brush head could come loose in the mouth and could pose a choking hazard.

And CBC News reported last year on a Health Canada warning of Colgate Motion Electric Toothbrushes, which were recalled by the Colgate-Palmolive manufacturer because the toothbrushes "exploded. "

RALEIGH, N. C. �� Lawyers for John Edwards have asked a judge to limit the testimony of longtime aide Andrew Young at the former presidential candidate's upcoming campaign finance trial.

Edwards' lawyers and prosecutors submitted court filings Wednesday over expected testimony from Young about conversations he had with heiress Rachel "Bunny" Mellon and campaign finance chairman Fred Baron. The conversations regarded money used to help hide Edwards' pregnant mistress as he sought election to the White House.

Defense lawyers said Young's testimony would amount to hearsay, or out-of-court statements that can't be verified, since Baron is dead and the 101-year-old Mellon is too frail to testify at trial.

Prosecutors contend that Young's testimony is permissible under an exemption that allows monster beats by dre a member of a conspiracy to testify about statements made by co-conspirators.

Edwards' lawyers argue that no such conspiracy existed.

"There also is no question that Mr. Edwards and Young agreed to hide the truth about Ms. Hunter's baby, and that Mr. Edwards knew and agreed that Young should claim that he (and not Mr. Edwards) was the father, " Edwards' lawyers wrote. CNN announced Thursday that it has canceled an upcoming debate after Mitt Romney, Ron Paul and Rick Santorum all said they would either not attend or were not planning to attend.

Romney's camp suddenly said Thursday that it was planning to skip the debate, intended for March 1st in Georgia, because he would be "campaigning in other parts of the country" ahead of the packed Super Tuesday Monster Beats Power primaries on March 6. TRENTON, N. J. �� The New Jersey Assembly on Thursday passed a bill legalizing same-sex marriages, setting the stage for an expected veto by Gov. Chris Christie.

The affirmative vote in the Assembly after more than two hours of debate ended weeks of speculation over whether Democrats who control the chamber would muster the 41 votes needed for the measure to pass. Four of the Assembly's 47 Democrats voted no, and a fifth was out of town and didn't vote. No Republicans voted in favor of the bill.

The Senate passed the bill 24-16. In that chamber, two Republicans voted for the bill and two Democrats voted against it in what was otherwise a party-line vote.

The bill would need several Republican votes in each house to override the governor; Christie himself essentially guaranteed that that won't happen.

With that in mind, Democrats Monster Beats Turbine who identified same-sex marriage as their No. 1 priority for the two-year legislative session that began in January have adopted a longer view. Gusciora also expressed hope that the governor would reconsider.

"I hope at the end of the day the governor understands what it's like to grow up as a gay or lesbian in the state, and that there are challenges, there is discrimination and this will come a long way of helping right all the wrongs, " he said.

In case same-sex couples can't win gay marriage through legislation, they have engaged in a parallel fight in the courts. Seven gay couples and several of their children have sued, claiming that the state's civil union law doesn't work as intended.

Civil unions were designed to provide the benefits of marriage to gay couples without the title. They were adopted after the Supreme Court instructed the Legislature to provide marriage equality to same-sex couples.

The state's own review commission has since found problems with the law, however, and many same-sex couples have backed that up with testimony before the Legislature.

Gay rights advocates say civil unions have not provided true equality. They complain that they set up a separate and inherently unequal classification for gays �C something social conservatives dispute.

Assemblyman Jay Weber, a conservative Republican, said the state's civil union law satisfies a Supreme Court order to grant gay couples the benefits and protections associated with marriage. He said he opposes altering the traditional definition of marriage.

A gay marriage bill was defeated in the Senate two years ago, just before Gov. Jon Corzine, a Democrat who supported the measure, left office. Advocates' hopes dimmed with the arrival of Christie, a Republican who spoke against gay marriage when asked about it during his campaign.

This time around, advocates have presented gay marriage as a civil rights issue. The bill includes an exemption for religious leaders, institutions and facilities, meaning no one would be required to perform, host or lease space for a gay marriage.

Republican Sen. Kip Bateman of Somerset has taken a different approach. He recently drafted a resolution asking voters to approve gay marriage at the ballot. The resolution must be approved by the Legislature to be placed on the ballot in November, which Senate President Steve Sweeney has already said he won't allow.

CHESTERFIELD, N. J. �� A dump truck collided with a bus carrying elementary schoolchildren on Thursday, killing an 11-year-old daughter of a state trooper and critically injuring three other students �C two of them the triplet sisters of the dead girl, authorities said.

The accident occurred just after 8 a. m. at a four-way intersection in Chesterfield, a town south of Trenton. It sent the bus, which was carrying 25 students, crashing sideways into a traffic signal pole, crumpling the side. Police said 17 students received injuries, most of them minor.

State police identified the father of the triplets as Sgt. Anthony Tezsla.

His daughter Isabelle was killed. Her sisters, Sophie and Natalie, were listed in critical condition at Camden's Cooper University Hospital, along with Jonathan Zdybel, also 11.

Students with less serious injuries were taken to three other hospitals.

Chesterfield police Chief Kyle Wilson said the bus had a stop sign while the dump truck had a flashing yellow light. He said it was unclear whether the bus was attempting to cross the intersection or turn when the collision happened. The dump truck ran off the road into a grassy area.

No charges were filed. Police said the investigation was incomplete.

A boy being taken from the scene by his mother told The Associated Press "this big truck just came and slammed right into us. " The mother did not want the boy's name used.

The boy said the crash left some of his fellow students with bloody faces.

Students on the bus said they were wearing their seatbelts. But a mother of one of the children told television station NBC10 in Philadelphia that some children were still tossed into the aisle.

John Kelly, whose 11-year-old daughter attends Chesterfield Elementary School, said the triplets were in his house just a short while ago and played sports with his daughter.

"It's devastating. My wife can't come out or anything, " said Kelly, who was picking up his daughter, who walks to school, Thursday afternoon.

Neighbors openly wept near the accident scene.

The town of about 8, 000 residents has thousands of acres of preserved farmland, but there is also a lot Monster Beats Lamboghini of new home construction near the school, which serves nearly 600 students in kindergarten through sixth grade.

Gov. Chris Christie called the crash "a terrible tragedy. "

A community vigil was being held Thursday at the Chesterfield Baptist Church. Officials said counselors would be sent to Chesterfield Elementary.
