ロボットグランプリを見てきた
ショップのトップでも告知させていただいておりましたが、日本機械学会ロボティクス・メカトロニクス部門が主催するロボットグランプリにメカロボショップとして本当にささやかですが(本当にささやかなのです．．．)協賛させていただきました．
ぼくはだいたい毎年見に行ってはいるのですが、今年も楽しみにしていたロボット競技会です．
特に、大道芸ロボット競技会がぼくは好きで、とても楽しみにしていました．
今年もみなさん、力作をひっさげて登場、でありましたが、惜しくもトラブルで本領が発揮できないままのグループもあれば、そのままでもゲームセンターやテーマパークでも使えるんじゃないかと思うほどの完成度のものもありました．
この競技が他のいわゆるロボコンと大きく違うのは、会場等の関係で規制はあるものの、「課題」が無いというところでしょうか．つまり、ヒトを楽しませるためであれば規制をクリアしていれば何を使っても良いが、手本となるものは何も無い、というところが実にいい．
審判員の先生方もいますが、コドモたちにフラッグをふたつ渡して、面白いと思えば、2個まであげてよし、つまらなければ、0でもよし、という審査方法もユニーク．
コドモ審査員の点がどこまで加算されるシステムになっているのかは分かりませんが、優勝したチームは、予想通りというほどヒトを楽しませる、と言う点では、妥協無く作り上げられた素晴らしいものでした．
ちょっと辛口の意見を言わせていただくと、せっかくいいアイデアをもっていても、メカの構造や制御のトラブルで本番でうまく動かない、というチームが比較的多く見られたところ．
それは、学生が、余暇を利用して作っているからなのかもしれませんが、チームを構成し、アイデアを出し合い、工程を管理しながら、メカ・エレクトロニクス・外装とプロジェクトを一つまとめ上げるという点では、授業の一環として行ってもいいのではないかと思います．ヒトを楽しませる、ってそうは簡単なことじゃないですから、チャレンジのしがいもあると思うのですけれどね．
二日目(日曜日)のランサー競技は実は久しぶりの観戦です．久しぶりに見るとかなりレベルが上がっていて、速度も速くなっていながら正確に的をツクのに驚かされました．
が、どうも出てくる機体がみんな似すぎているのがちょっとどうかなあ、と思わされました．
もちろん、メカもソフトも細やかなそれぞれの違いがあるのでしょうけれど、かなり類型化が進んじゃったな、というのが第一印象です(これまた辛口ですいません)．
それでも、ユニークな機体も何台か出場していて、将来が楽しみだな、と思いました．
ぼくが一番印象をうけたのは電通大の増淵さんの機体でした．マウスでも彼の機体は素晴らしい出来で好タイムを出しています．今回は途中、トップにも躍り出ましたが、残念ながら後続の機体に抜かれてしまいましたけれど、これからもがんばっていい成績を残してもらいたいと思いました．
また、来年が楽しみです．
